Brad Holmes

Dr. Brad Holmes is the Director of Choir Programs at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. Dr. Holmes’ has led more than 300 festival choirs and clinics, including 25 All State choirs, ACDA honor choirs, district festivals, and church music clinics throughout the United States. Internationally, guest-conducting engagements have taken him to England and continental Europe as well as the Far East where he has directed choirs from Korea, Japan, China and the Philippines.  His compositions and arrangements are available from First Step PublishingSanta Barbara Music Publishers Morning Star Publishers., and from this site.

Dr. Holmes received the M.M. degree in conducting from the University of New Mexico and the D.M.A. degree in choral music from Arizona State University.  Prior his appointment at Millikin, Dr. Holmes was Associate Director of Choirs at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

In his twenty-five years at Millikin University, Dr. Holmes has overseen the growth of the choral program to four traditional choirs and a variety of smaller vocal ensembles involving 250 singers and three nationally recognized choral staff.  Other responsibilities at Millikin include conducting the 55-voice Millikin Men, teaching Choral Techniques and Conducting.  He is artistic director for Millikin’s Christmas Vespers, which attracts 6,500 people annually.
